Health Really Is Wealth – In More Ways Than One

The Coya team first met Kevin Margolis when he came through our program in June of 2025. As a wealth advisor hailing from Frisco, Texas, he already understood – intimately – the impact strategic support has on performance. He also didn’t need to be convinced of the importance of measurement; wealth management requires an expert eye and careful management of portfolios to achieve the kind of results that keep clients happy.

The financial industry and the health industry have that in common – performance doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built through data, tested through discipline, and refined by someone who knows exactly what the numbers mean (and how to act on them). Having a clear plan makes it far easier way to achieve the outcomes we want. Kevin ran his firm that way already, but he needed help applying that same rigor to his own health. So, he came to Coya, and the experience changed his life.

With the habits he established through the program now guiding his behavior outside of it, Kevin found himself looking at his firm, SFMG Wealth Advisors, through a new lens. Doesn’t our health deserve the same level of attention we assign to our money? What if the experience he had as an individual going through the program could extend to his entire 25-person team, and even to their clients?

In March, our co-founder, Jason, arrived at SFMG’s office with three clear goals in mind:

  1. Provide high-value, educational content for SFMG staff and clients
  2. Reinforce a holistic view of wealth that includes health, energy, and longevity
  3. Position SFMG as proactive and forward-thinking in client well-being

The day consisted of two sessions; the first being a lunch-and-learn with SFMG’s internal team that was built around three performance KPIs for finance leaders. The second, that evening, was a keynote for SFMG’s clients, framed around performance, health, and longevity.

The internal session gave the SFMG team permission to go deep on something they’d mostly been managing alone, despite the fact that health directly impacts our ability to show up for ourselves, our families, and the teams we lead or the colleagues we work alongside. Health, at a wealth advising firm, isn’t usually something discussed in internal meetings or in the break room. It’s not usually discussed at all. But after lunch-and-learn, that changed. A new internal culture began to take root.

Later in the day, the client session gave SFMG’s advisors a reason to bring up health with the people whose money they manage – not just as casual small talk, but as part of the actual relationship. If this strikes you as unusual, it shouldn’t be. There’s real data behind why wealth advisors who can speak credibly about health see stronger loyalty and more referrals from clients. We can’t stress this enough: wealth and health aren’t separate topics so much as the same conversation, told from two different rooms. They even share the same language: we invest our money, and we invest in our health. Daily deposits unlock compounding returns. Invest in your future, today, so you don’t have to worry about tomorrow.

But true success means having the health to enjoy the wealth you’ve worked so hard to build.

Something had already shifted by the time the last group filed out that evening. What stood out most to Jason was the level of presence and curiosity he felt in the room during both sessions. Everyone was locked in on the information being presented to them, and eager to ask the questions necessary to make that education fit into their own life and habits. Jason has a phrase for that particular state – being in your flame. It’s the kind of engaged, energized focus that shows up when someone’s doing their best thinking. Usually he sees it in one person at a time. That evening, by his account, the whole room was in it.

Our work with SFMG didn’t end there. If anything, it’s just beginning. Following Kevin’s individual experience and the sessions hosted at SFMG, we’re now working with Kevin and his team to figure out exactly how the Coya method can be woven into how SFMG operates, week to week. We’ve made it our mission to help individuals and teams unlock performance for life – not just a few good weeks or months.

And we can’t wait to help SFMG do precisely that.
